Someone else`s mobile number on my new SIM

Hi, 

I`ve recently switched from Tesco mobile to Sky,  I have transferred my old mobile number to my new SIM via the PAC process, however the new SIM from Sky has someone elses phone number on it and that person is now messaging me.

Anyone else had this?

There's not an infinite amount of phone numbers so there is an amount of number recycling.  I suspect this is the case instead of you actually having someone's live, current, phone number...

What number are you having issues with because if you have used a Pac code to move the number from Tesco to Sky then the sim should now be using this one and not the one that came with it or am I missing something here ?

I've just had this happen to me for my sons new phone, his first phone, all setup, shared his number with family and it doesnt work ...... till i get a message from a random guy asking who I am?
