@Joe+S.

Your post has been moved into this thread discussing problems in Canada. Sky are aware some customers are having this issue. It's being investigated, most likely in conjunction with Canadian networks. See the post currently showing as the answer.

There is no 'answer'! And Sky are not doing anything!!

Re: Sky stopped working whilst in Canada

I recommend getting an eSIM. Despite multiple responses saying that sky are looking into, or that there is an answer, there isn't one. The 'answer' doesn't work.

Re: Sim not working after 24 hours in Canada

I have tried all solution I could find in the sky help and chatted with someone who actually suggested taking out the SIM card, rubbing it, and putting it back. Surprisingly, this did nothing. What would it work for one day, then not connect again after that?

I didn't say there was an answer, I said look at the post currently showing as the answer. We have been told Sky are investigating this so unless you have some insider information to the contrary then we have to take it that it's being worked on.

Re: Sim not working after 24 hours in Canada

Well if they are 'working on it' why has it taken this long? I made one of the first posts 2 months ago and got absolutely nowhere! Was in Canada for 8 weeks and didn't have a network signal all that time. If you read back through the posts there have been several comments saying that Sky are aware of it - so why is there still a problem?

If I knew that I'd be advising Sky and earning a tidy sum.

Re: Sim not working after 24 hours in Canada

If, and it's a fairly large if, Sky are in fact doing anything about this then they would appear to be completely inept.

As for the fact that people are meant to believe that Sky are telling non-employees that they are working on a solution whilst ignoring people who are being affected by this issue, well that would appear to stretch credibility somewhat too.

The post currently marked as the answer also informs affected customers that it's being investigated.

Re: Sim not working after 24 hours in Canada

Well that must make it true then - despite all indicators to the contrary.

I mean Sky are bound to confide in a group of non-employee [Removed] before communicating with customers, as a business strategy that must be a real winner - as opposed to actually communicating directly with affected customers

Re: Sky stopped working whilst in Canada

I hate to say it again but I've been told by sky EMPLOYEES there isn't a problem and we are all deluded apparently. They have had no other problems at all and apparently this is there technical team. So who knows where people think they are looking into it as they Definately aren't! Or the web of lies continues !

Re: Sky stopped working whilst in Canada

Mine is now fixed - there was a drop for a few hours a couple of days ago. But it came back and has been consistently connected since then.

I'd recommend to go through the Chat Customer Service. You'll get a lot of silly suggestions like remove your sim and put in another phone. Point them to this thread and say that it's also happening on other phones. They'll then push higher up the chain and you'll be contacted on WhatsApp the next day. They took me through several steps that cleared the issue for me - see steps on Page 10/11 of this thread.

It's obviously some kind of conflict between the Candian Networks and the Sky/02 network when roaming - it's just a shame Sky can't come out publicly with a fix rather than trying to fix on an individual basis

Re: Sky stopped working whilst in Canada

An Update:

So it started working yesterday, but then again today, it has stopped working.  Immidiately after I received a text from sky telling me when my 24 hour passport plus would end, and that if it is re-activated there is a £2 charger for 24 hours.. bla bla bla.. it stopped working.  While I was staring at it.  I was getting 4 bars of 4G signal, I received that text, as soon as I read that text, the bars dissappeared, and it wend to SOS mode only.  And has been that way for the past 5 hours and I don't expect it to change soon.  Since the 24 hour perioud is up in about 4 hours, I'll have to wait to see if I'm able to get it again.  But something very strange is going on.

So to sum up, here is what happened:

8pm yesterday, I was able to initiate the passport plus without a problem

all morning todya, was able to get 4G and sometimes 5G signal

2pm today: received text from sky warning of the passport plus ending at 8pm

2pm all mobile signal has stopped.  Now only see SOS satalite notice where the mobile bars were.

And thats where we are now.

No roaming service in Canada

I'm in Canada but for the first time ever my iPhone has not connected to a local network. I only get SOS calls.

Any solutions for this?

Thanks
