If you haven't already try this…
Apple:
Settings > Mobile Data > SIM Applications > Make sure this is set to Home.
Android:
Sky Menu App or SIM toolkit > Roaming > Make sure this is set to Home.

@Addie15 - I am still yet to receive a response on this forum or via PM. Please can you provide everyone with an update on what is happening? I will be returning to the U.K on the 6th September and will be sure to change networks when I can before returning to Canada as I antipcate this won't be resolved by then.

When I went on the invite the 5 suggestions were just what had been put in one of the earlier replies which I think everyone said hadn't worked for them. They hadn't for me anyway. I bought a Canadian eSIM in the end and will call sky when I am back home on Saturday. Very disappointing overall with the service!

Hi,
Yes the service is appalling, I have moved to Lebara, it is a cheaper option for me as it works in most countries free of charge. My son travels a lot with work and has never had an issue with Lebara. I am expecting Sky to now mark this chat as answered which they did on previous chats of mine to mask the issues they are having. Hopefully people having issues will leave as the service is appalling. Hope you get sorted soon.

Sky mobile stop working in Vancouver SOS
When i arrived in Vancouver canada my data was working perfectly fine and then the next day it stopped working and says "SOS". i have tried all of the troubleshooting options 3 times and it still does not work.
I have read through all the discussions related to this and it hasn't helped as it seems many did not receive an acceptable solution apart from purchasing a local sim. if you did so, did Sky still charge you on the days where it did not work?
My partner & son are on O2 and their phones are roaming just fine.
Any help would be much appreciated.

intersting to hear it's Definately a Sky issue, and yes continuing to be charged and continuing to have no answer or help other than the same fixes over and over! The most disappointing thing is they know there is a problem but not telling people! so when a young female lands alone in Canada it is dangerous not being able to navigate in a foreign country. I was assured before she went that there would be no problem getting a signal!

Given that it's now been shared with the support team about a dozen times when do you think they might actually provide some support. Your customer service is dreadful, as a company you are ignoring the issue and your customers it's a disgrace

Well they did and they know there is a problem which is more the point so be honest and let customers know! So other arrangements can be made especially for lone travellers!
