Sky sent a physical SIM but an eSIM is required for my iPad Air 2024
I've just purchased an iPad Air 2024 from Sky, and I was sent a new SIM (physical) to go with it.
When the iPad arrived, it was clear that it did not accept a physical SIm, only an eSIM.
What do I do now?
Convert the provided SIM to an eSIM (if possible)?
Order a new eSIM and bin the physical SIM?
In either case, do I lose the data plan that was sold me with the iPad at a discounted price?
Thanks.

If the sim isn't activated then the data plan will be lost. I presume you can convert it to an esim or perhaps don't activate this physical sim and just order an esim for it if this is possible to do.

Re: Sky sent a physical SIM but an eSIM is required for my iPad Air 2024
Thanks for yor help and advice.
That's what I'm concerned about and need to know. It seems a bit of a scam if Sky send out a discounted SIM for a device that can't use it, if that means I then have to get an eSIM at normal price. I've looked at activating the physical SIM but that then bills it to my account. If I can't convert it for some reason then I'd also have to pay for a new eSIM to get my iPad active.
I can't believe that Sky are sending out physical SIMs for eSIM only devices and not providing proper instructions on eSIMs. It's confusing.
Surely I'm not the only person who is finding this?
