Sky Roaming.....
Complete rip off. Wife sent one text "We've arrived", £2...... I know it's in the charges.... But..... Final bill £4 don't know what other £2 was for.
Was paying £10 for 10Gb..... Moved to O2 32Gb for £8 no European roaming charges.... And sky use O2. Imagine two accounts like I used to have! Away for 2 weeks...£56 added to your bill! Move now!

The fact Sky uses the O2 network in the UK doesn't come into it as they are two different companies.

Different Company same network! Your'e defending a company ripping off its customers!
Better deals out there for the exact same service in the uk folk. And far superior if you use roaming.

When you're roaming your home network isn't used...
If you roam a lot then you may find a better deal elsewhere - however, beware of forced above inflation price escalators with most other networks.

I'm not defending any one I am just telling you it is. If you don't like the charges then use a different network that doesn't charge.

Am I missing something here...........
Sky use the O2 mobile phone network Yes
Sky charge £2 day roaming Yes
O2 use the O2 mobile phone network Yes
O2 charge £2 day for roaming No!
So both use same network, one charges roaming!
If I dont roam I don't get charged Yes
If I roam I get ripped off! Yes
Funny how roaming is one of a few choices in options for leaving Sky!
I am only pointing out Sky are ripping their customers buy charging roaming when I say not £2 a day but £14 a week!

I am not telling you to change. If you are happy with the charges keep paying them!

I'm not a Sky Mobile customer as who I am with doesn't charge either.
Just because Sky uses the O2 network in the UK doesn't means their charges and everything else will be the same as O2, not sure why you can't see that ?

Yes. Overseas networks levy a charge on the home network.
O2 'absorb' the charge.
Sky pass it on.
O2 have an annual above inflation price escalator.
Sky do not.
Choose whichever network works best for your needs.

I don't expect you to agree ane thats fine, but it is unfair to throw out the accusation when its clearly not true.

Tesco Mobile also use O2. No roaming charges in Europe until 2025........ Just saying.........
OK folk £14 for a week over and above what your paying ( Or pay for a weeks contract and dont use it!) isnt a rip off in the eyes of all these people who are just sky cutomers.
I accept I should just suck it up!
As I said earlier one of the few choices given is survey for leaving sky is "Roaming"
Seems my opinion of ripping off is the loss of two sky customers.

'Ripping off' is indeed a matter of opinion. But if you feel it's a 'rip off' then move to another network - I don't see the issue.
Our opinions are obviously different....... And I am giving my opinion as a heads up to customers who may be charged extra unknowingly. And yes, I have moved to another network it took two days, was seamless and I have the same number, but the best bit is I don't have a £2 (£14 a week) a day roaming that you find so acceptable. And if you tell me you dont use sky mobile I dont have a clue why you are getting involved !

I have 5 Sky SIMs. Fully aware of the roaming charges.
