Sim card in new Samsung Tab

I got my new Samsung Tab from Sky last Saturday, received my new Sim card on Tuesday, activated it, got a new phone number from Sky for my Tab which shows up in My Sky App in my Sims. I have tried ringing my new Tab number but its not working. Looked in my Tabs settings under the Sims setting and the new number isnt showing. Why is this? Can any one advise me. Thank you.
