Scam calls with sky emails to me.

Anyone else received call regarding being overcharged for mobile contract.offered 40% off for 12months by taking new contract.caller had both mobile numbers,e mail address and knew sky monthly phone bill amount.during call was sent a "sky email" asking to confirm email address.received second confirming this almost immediately.identical to a sky page!called was interrupted,was called back but at this point "spam call'flashed up on my phone.disconnected then blocked call.phoned sky direct,got through to fraud dept.explained situation and there advice was if a parcel was delivered by "sky" to myself,I should take delivery,but that I would probably be contacted by a "courier" to pick up a wrong delivery.Do Not give it to new courier,contact sky and ask for a pre addressed returns bag and hopefully that should be end of it.

contacted my bank.explained same.their advice was suspend all accounts for min week,have cancelled cash line and credit card.also advised to change e-mail address and mobile number as well.keep close eye on bank account when restarted after replacement cards delivered for any purchases or new direct debits in the future.

according to my bank,this scam is rife at the moment,and that hacking into sky and others is happening all time.

was annoyed that I was taken in by this,but the way this was done is not unusual in a "normal" call to varying companies.the "sky" email pages received were exactly same as Sky's!

how is it that your mobile,e-mail and bill details can be obtained from sky by a third party,how often is this happening and what measures are they putting in place to protect the customer.will wait til I have resolved this and an seriously considering  cancelling sky tv/moble as I have lost trust in their system.

@Angry6

This is a very common scam which is why Sky has this page about it:

What details did you give this caller, if your Sky account then if you haven't already change your password and also set up two step authentication so that in future each time you access it you will ne sent a text message with a code to your mobile. If you set this up then it is important that you make a note of the recovery code as it is this that is required should you need to turn this off for any reason.
