SIM card

I've just registered the SIM card for my ipad. The last stage is you receive a text. Big problem. My phone isn't working at the moment. No phone calls or texts. My only link with the outside world is WhatsApp. I've tried contacting via Chat but didn't get anywhere. Their number isn't recognised by WhatsApp of course. Any suggestions please? Help!!!!!

Do you or another family member have an unlocked phone you can put the sim in it to access the text ?
