SIM card seems to have stopped working

Hi - A bit of a strange issue here, my wife, son  & I just went for  a 1 week holiday - all 3 sky mobiles were working fine the day we left and when we arrived in Lanzarote my son & I got the expected roaming text and our mobiles worked fine all holiday at £2 each day.

My wifes phone stopped completely with no service, no data, no roaming text - I contacted sky by phone and after a 40 minute call of swpaiing sims, resetting phones etc the engineer couldnt get to the bottom of it.

Now we are all back home and my wifes phone still isnt working! ive swapped the sim about with my phone and it doesnt work so I think its the sim card thats faulty? my question though is can a perfectly good sim just suddenly stop working?

You can turn roaming off now you are back in the UK.

Does this phone not have the Sky Menu or SIM toolkit apps ?

Give this a try depending on what phone your wife has:

Apple:
Settings > Mobile Service > SIM Applications > Make sure this is set to Home.

Android:
Sky Menu App or SIM toolkit > Roaming > Make sure this is set to Home.

Re: SIM card seems to have stopped working

Thanks @caesarome  - its an android phone (Google Pixel 😎 but it doesnt have nay options to set roaming as "home"

there is only an option to toggle on/off "Roaming > Connect to data services when roaming" - Ive left this on as its also on my phone
