You need to set a spend cap. There are 2 spend caps, the roaming cap and the monthly spend cap. You need to make sure the monthly spend cap is set high enough to cover the amount of roaming charges you will accrue ie; £2 for every 24 hours you're away.

Just had exactly the same problem in Alicante/ Villa Martin, three weeks with no roaming data and phone just said no service, couldn't get through to sky and still no service when we got back to U.K., tried everything they suggested on the app, no luck, then on getting home was given a case diary number & promised a call within 48 hours, that was over a week ago now and still nothing! Just being able to speak to a human would be something!

Apple:
Settings > Mobile Data > SIM Applications > Change to Home
Android:
Sky Menu App or SIM toolkit > Roaming > Change to Home

My phone finally worked yesterday when we were coming back!
My wife's and daughters phones didn't work abroad at all and now we're back aren't working here either 🤦🏽♂️
Called Sky this morning and apparently they need new sims. So that's another few days for them with no phones to use

Yes but it didn't work.
Tried manually changing APN as well but no joy
