Roaming data and calling issues

Hi.

I've received my new iphone15 plus and installed my old sim and converted to an e sim, but I'm having trouble ringing my contacts. It won't connect, but if they ring me first then I can ring them back.

Also the Wi-Fi is working fine on the phone, but I'm not getting the 4g icon when I'm outside.

I tried ringing tech support but all they wanted to do is send me a new phone.

I'm sure it's something that can be rectified without resorting to a new phone, but I'm stumped!

thanks

Do you get 3G on the phone if you go to settings > mobile service > mobile data options > voice & Data and select 3G ?
