I have sky account and was told before I traveled to Spain it was free roaming so I aslo moved my husband onto Sky. Now I have arrived it is saying we have to pay £2 a day to use.
I need to speakk to somebody to cancle my account but it will not let me log into my Account as I am in Spain. How do I get to speak to somebody without actvating the £2 charge to make the call

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@NikkiLeigh You will only be ab le to cancel if still within the 31 day cool off.
Roaming chanrges only came into force in May 2022, so if you bought your phone before that then at the time it would have been free.

Also you will not be able to cancel if you are in a contract with Sky for the sim or if you are paying off a credit agreement.

I don't recall Sky writing to me saying they were going to start charging.

I don't think an email is good enough for such a significant change and to bury it deep in the small print doesn't make it clear enough. I reckon Sky have acted illegally.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt wasn't in the small print. As you can see it had its own section within the main body of the email but of course you're entitled to your opinion.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@skygoforKINDLE It was a seperate email clearly stating the new roaming charges, Sky have informed you it's not small print so thats not an argument you can use.
If it were illegal as you seem to be under the misapprehension that it is, I'm fairly sure the regulators would have made some noise by now.

You're very defensive of Sky. Sure you're not an employee? The change wasn't very well publicised. We heard about other mobile companies reintroducing roaming charges on the mainstream news channels but not a peep about Sky! Funny that considering Sky run their own news channel! It's obviously come as big surprise to a lot of people! Quod Erat Demonstrandum.

In any event I'll leave you to work that out for yourself:
