Receivg texts using data

Hi, I have a S 20fe and I can send text messages but to receive I need to have my data on or be in a wi fi zone, as I don't have unlimited data how can I receive messages without data being on

It depends on how they've been sent.  If they are SMS then you should be able to receive them without data, but if they are iMessage or WhatsApp then they are generally delivered over data.
