If it will not switch on then you can back it up so up until it was damaged had it been previously backed up ?

I don't know. Does it automatically back up on a regular basis?

It can do if the setting is turned on:

So have you checked to see what has been backed up:

Re: Please help! Backing up a liquid damaged phone to iCloud
Thank you. 🤩 I have just looked on this phone (the one I use for work) and they are on here - but they're not all there - but that's what I will have to live with. Thank you so much for your help.
So, is there a way I can set my new phone that do regular backups to the cloud?

If your new phone is an iPhone then look at the link I posted earlier as it explains how to set this up.
