Re: Piggy bank data missing

Yeah and we knew that so could plan around it. I received no email, I've checked, so the sudden loss was a complete surprise.

surely when discussing renewing their rep should say you have data about to expire why not use it to upgrade phone or whatever?

it's not right any company should be able to make any massive change mid contract term

@Babster

You can only use a small amount of data towards a new device. I believe the current amount is 50GB of data for a total reduction of £10. Sky will say letters or emails were sent out (in batches). As I think I've already stated on this thread I got mine on 09/01/24.

Re: Piggy bank data missing

I have too been caught out by this.

They said I was communicated the change and in an email they said i must of forgotten this was happening.

For me in 2024 (feb) i was notified of the annual increase having taken the increase each year for 3 sims and not complained I decided to call Sky and had new discounts applied. I didnt read anymore of that email or what else was changing...

2025 My Sims and TV/Broadband was both due. So this time they convinced me that I should got to 3gb data, and use my piggy bank as I have 1.4tb data and I hadnt been for years using it for what I should use it for! This reduced my costs by half!

June 2025 when rolling my data, I saw 900gb removed. So I emailed.

I requested the reinstatement of this - NO

I requested to increase my plan at no extra cost - NO

Can you waive cancellation charges for me leaving - YES

Process for PAC code - need to call for verification purposes

So it looks like they have been told not to do anything to try and retain the business.

In my view I have been misold my current plans.

What they should of done was remind me this was coming in to effect and then could have had a discussion if the plans we were going onto was right for us. I also have been left with the impression they dont have to and not to remind us knowing full well us consumers want to save money, take advantage of that. Then when the piggybank is empty get more money from us in upgrading. House always wins.

My data should of lasted 2-3 years on this plan taking into account around 20gb taken a month from being expired (when it was 36 months) now im rolling back 10-20gb per month and losing 20gb a month as expired at 12 months. At this rate will be gone by end of the year. Anyway rant over. [removed]

@cjgoodsell

I agree that an email reminding customers of this change would have been very helpful but by your own admission above you didnt fully read the original anyway. See post 156 on this thread a couple of pages back where I've copied my email and highlighted the relevant section.

Re: Piggy bank data missing

I would of taken it on the chin if i didnt re-package and my sims earlier this year.

What upset me the most is this:

1. "You must of forgot this it was going to happen" in their email response. Yes those exact words.

And 2. their sales process!

Point number 1 was what ultimately put my back up! You cannot say that there has to be a better wording than that.

What upsets me more is the fact my solutions offered is a no and not willing to negotiate or talk to me over the phone. [removed]

Your 'solutions' are rather optimistic.  Simply vote with your feet as you are...

Re: Piggy bank data missing

Well after reading these replies this is what I'm going to do, I going to put all the rollbacks back on my Phone, all of it, then every month they will take it back and so will I, and as someone said "I'll never reach 12 months of stored data", as is only 1 month old, considering I've aready payed for that date, and have lost the data, lets see what happens next.

Lost piggybank data

I received no reminder before some 23GB of piggybank data was lost. Given I had been saving it up to buy rewards for my daughter (whose phone it relates to), I was devastated when I realised it looks like it has timed out!? Is there no way I can get it back please as a good long term customer?

I'm afraid there is no chance that Sky will restore that for you as for now on data remains in the piggybank for a year which will be why the 23GB has been lost, apparently emails and letters were sent out early last year about this but no later reminders were sent out.

@Dghal

If you have data in your piggybank then you can roll it over to your device via the MySky app.

Sky Piggybank theft

Sky have removed 67gb from my piggybank in May. I know the legal jargon but in my eyes this is theft as I paid for that data

@Lincatseyes

There has been no 'theft'. So after 04/06/25 any data older than 12 months is being removed as per the new Sky Mobile Piggybank T's and C's.

Customers were made aware of this change in the April 2024 price change letters/emails but it's only recently come into effect which may be why quite a few customers have forgotten about it.

Re: Piggy bank data missing

Following my previous post[Removed].. I know we have no chance of having this data restored back to us so thought I would try something...

To stop any further data that is 12 months old being chipped away and robbed back each month from my data piggy bank.

On the 31st July I rolled back to my wife, daughter and my mobile, all the remaining data (85gb) I have in my piggy bank.

Then on the 1st of August when the data allowance is refreshed, all this data was transfered back to my data piggy bank.

[Removed] my data can build back up for when we need some extra.

Re: Piggy bank data missing

@Shillyshally Keep pointing it out, then someone will work out the change to stop it all and that may just be at the 12 month mark!
