Phone number doesn't exist

I keep getting a "This phone number doesn't exist " message whenever I phone my work colleague on his mobile. It clearly does exist, as I've been calling him on tye same number for the past 3 years. And he's sat next to me now. What's causing this issue?.

All you can do is to phone Sky on the free 150 number and give them the details of the phone number so that they can send it to their team to investigate for you.

Re: Phone number doesn't exist

I have exactly the same problem when calling family members. This is clearly a SKY poblem which they need to fix. The numbers I have tried calling are on Vodafone network, so it seems there must be a problem between Sky and Vodafone. This needs sorting to avoid Sky losing subscribers.

Re: Phone number doesn't exist

What did you do to resolve the issue please?  Myself and other Sky Mobile numbers are unable to phone my TalkTalk home landline. We get the same automated message that the number doesn't exist. It's been 2 weeks.

Hi @rhubarb1971  call sky on 150 as described above and tell them the number you are having trouble with so they can investigate for you.

Re: Phone number doesn't exist

Hi, as suggested we called 150 and raised the issue.  It was not an easy solution and took 2-3 cals and long painful conversations!!  Sky finally took the matter seriously. It now seems to have been resolved by Sky.

Re: Phone number doesn't exist

Thanks! I've done as suggested and spoken to 150. The issue has been escalated & hopefully will be resolved in somewhere between 48-72 hours

Re: Phone number doesn't exist

Hi, did anyone actually get this fault fixed? November 2023 and I'm still having this problem since early October. The same numbers I cannot call also cannot call me.

Tried the sim in different devices but always the same problem. Sky gave me a new sim but no resolution, then a new sim with new number and new contract, still the same problem on any device I put the sim in. Getting really annoyed now!

Re: Phone number doesn't exist

Jan 2024 and still getting this issue. Even text messages are failing often and have to resend 30mins later.

decided to leave sky and join vodafone. Dont have time to keep calling them and wasting life on the phone. Tried a new sim twice. Still the same.

Re: Phone number doesn't exist

This is on a 3 week old iphone 15 pro by the way. So the phone isnt the issue.

Re: Phone number doesn't exist

I'm staying with sky due to value and most importantly coverage, they've been the only network where I don't lose signal in my house and a couple of other locations.

Anyway several months on I'm still annoyed though as I've got the same problem despite replacement Sims etc.

They have now put another sim and contract on to my account with a new number and the problem has gone with the new one so the old contract and sim has been cancelled. 🍾

😔Now the new one has developed an issue. Whilst I can make calls without issue and receive calls from mobiles, anyone calling me from a landline does not get a ringing tone just silence. Whilst it's actually ringing my end they think there's no connection and so hang up sometimes before I can answer 😡

Re: Phone number doesn't exist

I got a letter stating the monthly price for each sim is going up by £2 per month and i have 5 sims in the family so I decided to leave as it wasnt worth the poor service from the network.

Re: Phone number doesn't exist

The same thing is happening to me. I ignore it and keep dialling and eventually it works.....but it's a pain!
