Re: Phone calls dropping out

@Loutw4enty

Did you change to a different brand phone?

Both ours were checked by apple and found no faults (bought direct from apple) both our sims were replaced and the issue remains. My hubby recently lost his phone, has replaced with a new one (direct from apple) had a new sim and the fault still persists 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes sorry, I changed to a Xiaomi note 10 and changed the SIM, and have had no further issues

Re: Phone calls dropping out

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, but my SIM was very old, and now a new one its all good

Re: Phone calls dropping out

I stay with IPhone 13 and the sim was new as I literally only got the phone a few days before and I was a new Sky customer.

Re: Phone calls dropping out

@Loutw4enty  So (as others have said) it's probably something to do with sky and apple rather than the sim

Re: Phone calls dropping out

Sky pursueded me to come over with a good deal, I was on O2 for years no issues, Sky uses O2, so I figured Great......As soon as I ported my number over the calls started cutting off in my home on a daily basis, it can be three times in as many minutes and now I can`t get my old O2 deal back, Not happy at all.

One call to my bank failed 12 times, I had to go out in car to make the call and wait yet another half hour for them to answer.

Sky sent a new sim, same problem.

I`m going to be sacking them any day, My phones a samsung S 9.

Re: Phone calls dropping out

Crikey seems to be a lot of people on here with issues are using a Samsung phone like me!  Upgraded to a A52s 5g and boom...calls dropping.

Really gets you paranoid and anxious on a call now...especially when you have to wait sooooo long to get through to any customer service dept these days!!!

Ordered a new sim...but not confident probem will go away. Wish me luck.

Re: Phone calls dropping out

This is infuriating, happening even more often now!  We use x4 iphones for business, whenever calling anyone on an iphone it drops out constantly.  Just been on to the wife and its dropped to silent x4 before I called her on Whatsapp and no issues.

I have not called Sky yet as was hoping the issue would go away and we are very busy so havent got time to be faffing about swapping phones over etc.  I will now have to call Sky as this is simply not fit for purpose.

Previosuly with O2 on a very good deal, but Sky persuaded me to join on an even better deal saying that they piggybacked off O2 anyay so service would be no different, how wrong they were!

Re: Phone calls dropping out

I have nothing but problems with sky mobile I must have to ring people back at least three times for one call, it’s disgusting my son and daughter have the same problems, I’ve had to buy a sim from another network for important calls. It’s ridiculous, I even took my iPhone to be checked in case it was the phone. The service is terrible. I have had a new iPhone from you and still got the issue.

Re: Phone calls dropping out

I have had the same problem with my iPhone 13. Sick of calling sky, get told different think every time I phone up. I have sent my phone back to them 4 times supposedly sent me two new iPhone 13 but still have the same problems. I have drop call, no reception or no signal. I don't believe that they have sent me two new phones as I can't believe I would have three iPhone 13 with the same problems.

Re: Phone calls dropping out

Hi, I went to sky as EE was expensive and the signal was poor. I've been with Sky since Feb last year and can't wait for my contract to be up. I have health issues so I need a reliable service. I've tried a different handset, a new sim, having Wi-Fi calling on and off nothing helps.

Re: Phone calls dropping out

We are not experiencing the dropping out any more, but when we try to call someone, we have to hang up and try again as nothing happens

Re: Phone calls dropping out

That is a lot of phones to have issues with @dazpan we have 4 iphones in our house and a motorola. The Motorola often drops signal. 1/4 iphones is fine with calls. 1 is never used for calls. 1 does it intermittenly now, and mine, I cannot make a call if I am sitting in the living room.

I can hear them fine, they cannot hear me and calling back doesn't change anything. But they are not sky users. I ring as little as possible, even less since I need to be upstairs and stairs are a challenge for me and I forget while up there.

When you have been sat on the phone for an hour to the housing association in a queue, its frustrating for someone to say, hello, hello are you there? I cannot hear anything. While I can hear them perfectly.

Or ringing medical appointments. Same length of time, or the doc rings you back (I was sat on the stairs for one call and in the kitchen for the other) both ended up dropping on my side. Its like my call is on mute but it isn't.

Different phones. Different sims. The only thing in common is the same network.

Its only the offers on phones and piggy bank keeping me at this point. But EE is looking more and more likely. At least they email you to tell you there is an issue when masts aren't working properly.
