Phone Swap Valuation

Returned a phone I thought was in good condition, only to have it's valuation reduced by 50% with no explanation/justification/evidence as to what warranted the change in value.

Feels like a scam to not pay out.

All I can do is accept the reduced value or reject and get the phone back....

@BrianK13

I take it you didn't take any photos before returning the phone as usually a lower valuation is put down to "damage", if not before rejecting the offer you could call Sky to ask them about this and why the valuation has been reduced and if they say it was due to damage ask to see proof by means of photos of the damage.

Re: Phone Swap Valuation

Didn't take any photos as I wasn't expecting any problems - lesson learnt.

Equally Sky has provided no evidence or explanation of the additional damage to produce a 50% reduction in value.

Re: Phone Swap Valuation

Same problem for me, returned a phone that in my opionion was pristine only to have it's value reduce by 50%. and an ultimatum to accept or pay the full remainder of the balance due on the phone or have it returned (the balance on the phone was = to the inital valuation).

I spent 50 mins on hold speaking to 3 different people when I phoned sky and requested an explanation. Ultimatley they couldn't tell me anything other than it has a hardware issue, so no explanation that makes sense. after 50 mins Sky couldnt give me an explanation so It has been exscalated but I now am waiting (up to 5 days) for someone to phone and explain why my valuation has been reduced so much. I have informed them they are holding me to 4 day day response or they will remove additional charge from my account if I don't either except or reject their valuation so they need to return an explanation to me before then.

I have no issue if the phone had a genuine fault but as I could not see any issue with it I require an explanation, imo that should automatically provided along with any request for additional money! Any other business requesting an unexpected £175 payment would be able to explain. So far Sky seem to think it's okay to provide no explantion and have made it very difficult to get one!

Sky must do better .. as I customer of over 11 years I am starting to feel like I am being scammed!
