Pencil and iPad delivery

Hi so I ordered an iPad and Apple Pencil I have a notification saying my pencil is due to be delivered tomorrow but still in process for the iPad, surely they would not deliver the pencil without the iPad correct?

From what you have said it appears that they are going to deliver the pencil first.
