I have been a Sky Mobile customer for a while now. I have always had an IPhone with them and paying monthly payments.
I have noticed a couple of things when it comes to my phone bills...
1. I have the same mobile plan as my parents (mum has an IPhone 11 and dad has Samsung) yet I am paying double of what they are paying (I have an IPhone 13)
2. I noticed the new IPhone 15 has come out, so I thought I would see how much it would cost me. I am currently paying £33.75 a month for my IPhone 13...if I chose a pink, 128GB, 24month IPhone 15 I would be paying £30 (which is £3 cheaper) but if I exchange 100GB of my saved data I would be paying £28.95 which is a lot cheaper than what I am paying now.
I don't understand why I am paying so much more for my phone plan that is the same as my parents and an older version than the IPhone 15. I feel like I have been paying extra/over charging me causing me to make sure I have that money in my bank account.
I am Autistic and money really confuses me, but I have shown my parents the bill and they don't understand why I am paying so much either.
I really need to speak to a Sky staff member but I'm not good at speaking on the phone, that's why I am posting on the community.
Thank you for reading my post 😊 x

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreMake sure you're comparing apples with apples. Whilst the plans are called Swap12/24 they are actually 24 and 36 month contracts.
Also, you need to factor in the dataplan on top of the device plan.
No one here can see your account - but it's quite possible you can get a newer phone and reduce your monthly charge but spread over a longer period.

@PandJ2020 Thanks for replying to my post.
If I compare my mum's IPhone 11 to my IPhone 13 we both have the same plan (unlimited calls & texts and whatever data we have) yet my mum is paying about £16 whereas I'm paying £33.75.
And I do know it's 24/36 month contract as I have been with Sky for about 6 years.
The prices above are the total prices of what we are paying. I understand that Sky has two payments were you pay for the phone and then your plan which totals above price.
For example: My IPhone 13 phone costs £22.75. My plan is £11 which totals £33.75. I don't pay for unlimited calls & texts or 5G because that's free the only part of my plan I am paying is 8GB which somehow costs £11 (which doesn't make sense why it costs that much)
But thank you for replying 😊 x

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThe iPhone 11 is 2 years older than the 13 so would've been cheaper on purchase. No doubt if you compare the 13 with say the 14 the monthly cost for 14 would be higher than the 13. The iPhone 15 is cheaper overall than the 14 was on release so the monthly cost will be lower.
Cost will also depend on the phone's storage - the iPhone 11 may have less storage than your iPhone 13.
