Strange one this! I moved my wife's number from EE to Sky and it said it would replace an existing SIM, which is what I wanted as the old number is redundant. However, some calls are still going to the old number and popping up on a phone that used to use the old number.
How can a replaced nuber still be active and how can this be stopped??

If this is an iphone go to Settings - Phone - My Number and change it if it is wrong, then reboot the phone.
If it is an Android phone go to About Phone > My Phone number, change it and reboot the phone. Also in text settings change the chat function to automatic. Make sure your current number is ticked and the temporary one isn't.
If it is correct then try ordering a replacement sim as that will come with the correct transfered number:
