No signal or connection in california

I am uk customer. Landed in California and didn't receive the usual.email from sky saying "welcome to USA...here are your charges" etc. Cannot connect to any network despite being able to see available ones. When signed into wifi at house.. everything else is working apart from calls and texts. Have checked everything suggested...vote compatible phone(s23 fe)...abroad is set...all settings are correct but still nothing. I'm thinking it's maybe a SIM issue? Any ideas or advice on which store I can go into to get advise( as obviously no sky mobile stores here)

You say all settings are correct but if this showing as abroad because if not it will need changing:

 

Apple:
Settings > Mobile Service > SIM Applications > Make sure this is set to Abroad.


Android:
Sky Menu App or SIM toolkit > Roaming > Make sure this is set to Abroad.

Yes "abroad" is selected.
