No contract sim card

I have moved abroad and want to cancel my monthly contract with Sky but want to keep my UK number. I would like a simple sim only contract which I can top up with cash and which i can transfer my UK number to. Is this possible?

Yes, find a Pay-as-you-Go provider and transfer your number to it.
