I landed in Miami yesterday and despite having roaming set up on my phone and also paying for International Saver, my Sky Sim will not connect to any network for data or calls. I had prepaid a taxi, but as the driver was unable to contact me, nor me them, I had to pay for another taxi to my hotel. I really need my phone working and have spent all night trying to fix the problem, but nothing works. Any advice?

I have put a 1p mobile (on the ee network) in my phone and that is working correctly, so the phone itself is definitely US compatible.

My spend cap was set to £45. I increased it to £65, and then wondered if that was causing a problem, so I set it back to £45, which would be perfectly adequate for my trip.

Yes. A couple of networks come up which are blocked to me. The only possible network is AtT&T and that has a question mark next to it and when I try to connect it simply will not connect. The 1p ee sim card happily connects to T-mobile. I am self employed and have an ill relative and really need my sky number working and access to the Internet. At the moment I am on hotel WiFi, but that's no use once I leave the hotel (and of course, no phone at any time).

I am actually feeling quite distraught now because I telephoned Sky for assistance and someone called Assad kept insisting that there must be connection problems local to where I am in the USA. When I told him that cannot be true because I tried to connect yesterday in Philadelphia before flying to Miami where I had the same problem, he told me to go and buy a local sim. I deeply regret cancelling my own ee sim and changing to Sky. The signal is poor in the UK and doesn't work at all in the US. I now only have this forum to try to get the sim working.
