New sky phone connecting to an existing sky sim

We are getting out teenager an apple phone from sky they already have a sky sim and they want to keep the existing number is this a straight forward move. as in buy a phone and pop in the existing sim?

Just to add @Rachel276  if you can't order the iPhone without adding a sim (this sometimes happens for some customers) then choose the least amount one and don't activate it when it arrives and it will drop off the account.
