New plan on ipad following transfer failure

Loads of issues with setting up new sky ipad.  Spoken to 4 operatives, no joy, been cut off on line help, emails not responded to.  Gone round in circles for last 2 weeks. Exhausting.   Ended up taking out recommended new eSIM plan.  Data appears to be working but no option on iPad to gain number & no calls or texts, incoming or outgoing.  Sold contract with unlimited calls & texts, Then told iPads don't use them facilities! Wasn't told that when I took out contract or bought iPad! Can't use whattsapp either unless I link to my iPhone using  that number.  I'm very frustrated ATM & feel dupoed.

If the sales person knew it was for an iPad then I think you have a valid complaint: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint

Unlimited calls and text for an iPad is useless.

iPads are not phones.

They only support cellular data so you can't send texts or make calls unless you use a data-based method such as WhatsApp or FaceTime.

You can't use SMS or make traditional phone calls as the hardware doesn't support them.

Yes thank you, that's what I now realise.  Sales person shouldn't have pushed the new sim contract re unlimited calls & texts! (In my opinion!).  Have managed to get WhatsApp working linking as my phone & that number.  Hey ho, will have to suck it & see & get used to it's functionality.  Expensive mistake on my lack of technical knowledge! Lol
