New mobile want to keep current sky number

Just ordered a new sky mobile, I want to keep my current number (with sky) but move over to my new contract. 
what needs to be done ?

Hi @Matt7united  you can't port from sky to sky. You could try calling sky to see if they can put the new plan on the old sim but they may say no. You can call on 150. The other option is to port your old number to another network on PAYG then port it back to the new sim.

@63johnw please can I ask if this would be the same if getting a new sim.? I've had my mobile with sky for over 10 years and need to keep my number. I'm out of contract and thinking of a new sim deal (ends tonight) but won't be able to if they can't keep your number. TIA

Hi @Justme13  you can't port from sky to sky. If you call sky on 150 they may apply the new plan to your old sim but don't be surprised if they won't. Your only option would be to get the new sim and activate it then port your old number to a different network on PAYG then port it back to the new sim.
