My Mobile signal is getting progressively worse

I changed my phone to Sky some years ago from EE as the signal with EE wasn't that good.  I now find that my Sky mobile signal is absolutely terrible in my house and I have pretty much given up using it, my husand has EE and his phone works really well.  I have to tell people to phone me on my landline when I am home as we just can't hear each other and even messages don't come through until I go upstairs in the house.  It is very frustrating.

Hi @S0rrento  have a look here as it's not the same as using WhatsApp.

Thanks, that does work, the call is a bit slow but at least the phone rings and I can communicate with the incoming call.

Thanks for your advice.

Re: My Mobile signal is getting progressively worse

OMG, exactly this! I've had Sky for years, I live in Kent. It used to be for most of my train journey into London I got signal. Obviously I accept due to trains going through tunnels and rural areas I don't expect perfection

As the years have gone on, it's got worse and worse to the extent I'd now say the vast majority of the trip I can't use my phone. Towns and villages my phone used to work in it no longer does. Places like West Malling, Paddock Wood, Tonbridge, Barming, Otford, around a lot of Bromley...nothing. When it says "3G" now rather than it being slightly slower it may as well just display "Don't Bother"

It's infuriating and I'm looking to change network as their service network coverage has degraded so badly

Yes, I think I'm going to switch back to EE, but I'm just buying my phone off Sky so probably wait till I've finished paying.

you are right though the number of places I can't get a signal has increased over the years.

Hi @S0rrento  your phone and sim are different so if you have had the sim more than 12 months you can cancel it, keep paying for your phone through sky and use a different network sim in the sky phone.

Re: My Mobile signal is getting progressively worse

Interestingly I heard a Sky mobile for business advert on the radio the other day, ironic saying if you don't provide good signal then people will leave, presenting themselves as the solution. But I'm sure I heard something saying "4G is now back up"

does that mean it's been down? I'm not joking almost daily I notice I get signal in fewer and fewer places and doing things like checking emails or browsing on data gets harder and harder

Re: My Mobile signal is getting progressively worse

The advert was probably advertising some kind of 4G back-up solution for business, eg. if your normal broadband goes down you can use 4G as a back up.

Sky uses the O2 network and unfortunately in a lot of the country it's a slow, congested and oversubscribed network.
