Mobile upgrade - so confused

i

I have an in contract iPhone 13 with a year to go. I've just paid off the credit agreement balance as I want to gift this phone to my daughter and I'll upgrade to the 15. I want to keep my number and have that on the iPhone 15. If I upgrade, does it automatically transfer my number to that and then I can order a new sim for my daughter / the iPhone 13?

Hi @B1lly12  if you have paid off the credit agreement then you can no longer upgrade, you simply buy a new phone, if you add a new sim/plan that will come with a new number. You can then give that sim you your daughter with the 13 and put your old sim in your new phone.

Thank you.  So when I order the new phone, I add a data plan to that? And then use the data plan / SIM from my iPhone 13 rather than cancel that one and order another SIM?

Yes that is correct.

When the sim comes you give this to your daughter to use in the iphone 13 while you use the sim you currently have.
