Mobile data not working in Italy even with good 5g signal

I'm trying to use Google maps and Google translate while in Italy but it is only working with WiFi. There is a good 5g and also 4g signal in the area.

Although you don't have to do you have a spend cap set because if you do it needs to be high enough to cover your stay.

That apart have you tried searching for other networks to see if your device will connect and then work ?

Also make sure this setting is set to Abroad:

Apple:
Settings > Mobile Service > SIM Applications > Make sure this is set to Abroad..

Android:
Sky Menu App or SIM toolkit > Roaming > Make sure this is set to Abroad.

Thanks for your reply 🙂 Spend cap set to £100 with roaming passport so should be more than enough. 
Sim applications can only set to Roaming or Automatic - no option for abroad.

It only gives me Automatic as an option!?

Then I'm not sure there is much you can do as you are at the mercy of the local network when you are abroad as Sky has no control over them.
