Hi, just wondering if somone can clarify which part of the Sky SIM activation process differs between a 'replacement' SIM and a 'new' SIM.
I've been trying to transfer an existing eSIM because I've upgraded my iphone. My phone reported that eSIM 'transfer' is not possible with Sky and to contact them directly.
So, then having tried a number of times to 'replace' my existing eSIM, a Sky customer service agent just advised that there is an ongoing issue with eSIM activation atm (email delivery failing), but was happy to post a physical SIM out to me (6-8 days), with the intention of then converting the physical SIM to an eSIM on my new phone.
I happen to have an unused physical SIM card from a previous order (that was never opened/activated).
So I guess my question is: Is there a difference between a 'replacement' SIM and a 'new' SIM at the point of Sky posting? Can I use the unopened SIM that I received previously and save myself 6-8 days, to then begin the eSIM conversion processs on my new phone?
Thanks in advance!

A new sim will come with a new number while a replacement sim will have the same one to the one it is replacing.
With regards to this physical you have got, it might not work as you have 30 days to activate it before it is auto cancelled so if you want another one you would need to order it.
