International roaming in Corfu

Been 2 days in Corfu but billed £45 for roaming. Why did Sky choose the network from Albania?

They didn't. It's a common mistake to pick up an Albanian mast if near the border. Sky aren't likely to reimburse you. See this link, in particular'accidental roaming' near the bottom...

Sky has no say in how networks outside of the UK work but when you are near a border your device could connect to one in the other country as per this:

Sky didn't - your phone did.

I recommend not using automatic network selection if you are near Albania.

Greece and Albania are a few kilometres apart at the narrowest point of the Straits.  Unfortunately cellular signal isn't noted for its ability to recognise and then stop at an international border.

Somebody at Sky should probably amend that article, because Turkey (despite not being in the EU) is a £2 per day destination.

Re: International roaming in Corfu

Might be the phone being on auto select for network but can't help feeling that the situation is to Sky's advantage. Day 1 recognized as being investigated Greece = £2. Day 2 & 3 suddenly no more Greece but Albania & cost = £45

I wonder what Sky's margin is on that!!

True but Sky still didn't select the local network, your phone did...
