I want to buy an ipad but not a data pack

Why can't I buy a ipad from Sky without a data pack?

Presumably because it's from Sky Mobile.

Sky also feels the need to ship SIMs with Macbooks that have no cellular data functionality.

You could by the cheapest sim and then don't activate it when it turns up as you then shouldn't be charged for it.

All iPad's sold by Sky are cellular.  (If you don't need cellular connectivity then it may be worth considering buying a WiFi one elsewhere that  may be cheaper).

However, you should be able to purchase without a dataplan - there's an option 'I do not need a dataplan'*.  But if even if you did order a dataplan you will not be charged for it if you don't activate it.

* although just tried it and seems to have vanished  (I was offered 100MB for £0 - which is great if you have an existing piggybank)

What you can do with that you can get the iPad but when you go to selecting data go to 100 MB and it will cost you absolutely £0.00 and you still get the advantage of using 100 MB it will last about two hours a day

The 100MB dataplan is for those who have data in their piggybank...  (It gives a cheap way of accessing stored data)
