I received a notification from sky saying i had to configure settings and to install about 6 things

The notification from sky saying I needed to install some configuration settings has disappeared and its not in the history 

Also I've been told that I would need to use roaming while I am visiting Ireland from the UK is that correct as I thought EU countries were the same as if you were in uk ?

You can get these sending sent to your phone yourself from here so this should be what you need to do:

Go to sky.com/networksettings (My Account > Mobile > Settings) and sign in with your Sky iD.
Select the mobile number or SIM name you're having trouble with.
Scroll to 'Resend network settings' and select Request settings.
Save the settings when your receive them and reboot your phone.
