I cannot make a xall from my phone in tenerife

I am in tenerife and my phone can only make emergency calls. I cannot make any other calls or texts. I am using the hotels wifi. All i keep getting is Refreshing Sim Data. It is very important for me to ring home. Urgent reply needed. I have Roaming data on. Have tried rebooting the phone. Getting very annoyed.

Hi @OSCAR+baker  try turning off automatic network selection in your phone settings, then do a manual search and try networks on the list.
