Your original data plan may be no longer available. They changed fairly frequently.

From Skys website

Data plans

If you're changing to a:

  • Bigger data plan - your new data allowance will be ready to use straight away.
  • Smaller data plan - this won't change until your next bill date.

One to watch out for: Our data plans change regularly, so you might not always be able to change back to a plan you used to be on.

  • E.g. You change from 1GB @ £6 to 2GB @ £12, and the 1GB @ £6 plan isn't available anymore - you won’t be able to change back to it.

As above, you can only switch to the currently available plans.  If you switch from a plan then there's no guarantee it will still be there when you want to switch back (as has happened here).

Additionally, if you have an offer applied to your plan then switching away from it will cancel that offer.
