Handset won't accept calls from Landlines? Help appreciated.

Samsung Galaxy A14.  Had an issue last week when I was expecting a call that never came.  Turns out they tried calling  but didn't get anything at all, no ring tone, nothing.  They called from a landline.  I then tried an experiment and called my mobile from my landline, same again, nothing at all, no ring, no message or AI voice, nothing, dead on both ends, total silence.  Asked someone else to help and same again when they rang, nothing.  Mobile is receiving calls from other mobiles via either phone app or whatsapp and texts on both apps are fine si it's just landline numbers that aren't getting through and I can call out to landline numbers its just incoming ladlines that are the problem.

Tried turning on and off, all the usual stuff, checking blocked numbers and settings and eventually live chat with Sky that wasn't really much help.  Sky suggested it was a landline problem but three different landlines with three different providers?  Don't think so.

So any ideas?  I really don't fancy a factory reset as that may not work either.  I'm wondering if it is somehow the SIM although any ideas welcome.

I should clarify my post - I use the setting on my phone to allow the wifi (which is not Sky in my case) to be used instead of the mobile signal. This is where I believe the issue lies.

No solution but I am having this same issue on my Iphone. Landlines get an error message saying cannot connect or similar. It seems like it is only landlines and testing similar to yours provided more evidence this is the case.

I thionk it is somthing to do with using SkyWiFi - if ytoiu are in a bad signal area and use this to make the phone work then try turning it off and (if you have some signal anyway) get some land numbers to call you.

If this is the case, then looks I am going to need to get another SIM from somewhere that actually has a decentish signal in my area 😞

Re: Handset won't accept calls from Landlines? Help appreciated.

Stephen, you Sir are a genius.  The one thing I didn't try so I just turned my phone wi-fi off and called my mobile from my landline and hey presto the mobile rang!  Turned wi-fi on again and mobile doesn't ring.  So it's the wi-fi on the mobile.  My broadband and wi-fi is with BT.

Earlier when out at the physio I asked them if they could call my mobile from their landline and my mobile rang and my wi-fi was on so I really don't understand it unless it's because I wasn't at home.

I'm really confused though because thius hasn't always happened, no settings on either phone have been changed so why on earth does a mobiles wi-fi setting impact a landline calling your mobile?!  I'm baffled how to cure  it because obviously I want to use wi-fi when I am home to save on data!?!?!

Maybe this is a BT internet thing - I use Zen as my ISP but they run on the BT network.

Anybody out there having these issues? If you are post which broadband provider you are on.

Either way, I have to use the sky wifi as I have virtually no mobile signal coverage, which means I am going to have to buy another SIM on another network.

Re: Handset won't accept calls from Landlines? Help appreciated.

I've just found this post as having the same issue. I'm unable to receive calls from landline numbers on my mobile whilst at home (and need to have Wi-Fi calling enabled as signal strength is awful).

I've an Apple iPhone 15 and broadband provider is BT.

Weirdly, my wife's iPhone (different model) but also has wi-fi calling enabled & running same / latest os version is fine?!

I need this resolved as work remotely.

Well spoke to BT and it is indeed the fact that for some reason WI-FI calling was enabled on my mobile,  Switched WI FI calling off and my landline called my mobile.  So have turned off WI FI calling but general WI-FI on the  mobile remains on, if that makes sense.

Not sure what the answer is if you need WI FI calling on mind you, maybe an old style landline phone that's not a digital one may be the answer although I think they are phasing all those out.

Glad it helped.  Bizarre thing is it's a fairly new issue as two weeks ago I was receiving landline calls and my WI-FI calling on my phone would have been active then.  Would appreciate it if you could update us on what Sky say.

Hi, I've now started to receive calls from landlines with wi-fi calling switched on! So looks like the issue seems to have been resolved.
