Got call from Sky saying they are sending new sim to replace current sim and would give discounttoo

Someone called to say they are sending new Sim, same number and same contract, to replace my current sim. They said there is reception issue and they are replacing all sims.

The number they called was 0204603 6378

They wanted to give me discount on my bill and asked for my email. I asked what email do they have on their system and they couldn't tell, I got suspicious and declined to further engage with them

Is this common scam or was it legit call from Sky?

It is a scam call so did you give them any personal details about your account or payment details ?

Numbers are easily spoofed - almost certainly a scam call.

It's a fairly elaborate scam that involves ordering expensive equipment of your account and then getting you to return the items to them...  (They have the kit, you have the bills)

@RMAM Its 100% a fake/scam call, i had one a few days ago from the exact same number claiming to be o2 with the caller trying to convince me that my sim was going to be automatically deactivated due to recent infastructure upgrades and they needed me to login to my account and change my password to one they would give me.

We had the same call.  Upon advising them that we're not with O2 they weren't deterred.  I'm still waiting for my SIM to be deactivated as they promised.  😂

Just had the very same scam call from 020 **** 2358!   Knew it was a scam, as I switched to Lebara over a year ago (to avoid £2 a day roaming charge) but kept my number.
