Re: Fraudulent Sky account
I appear to have made some progress. I reported the account to the cancellations department - using this no. [Removed]. I was told the Fraud department would be in touch within a week. After exactly a week I did receive an email from accountsecurity at sky (can not use the literal email address in the post). The email began with
"We’ve noticed an unusual order on your account. We believe you may have been contacted by someone, impersonating Sky, where you may have given them enough information to allow them to place an order on your account."
Not exactly what I was expecting. I suspect that the internal systems for reporting fraud do not allow for fraudulent accounts via identity theft and the operators are just selecting the nearest option.
I replied to the email stating once again that the account was a fraudulent account blah blah….
I have still not received any other communication from Sky, however I have received an email from the debt collection agency saying that they are closing my account and that I will not receive any further communication from them.
According to my credit record I still have an account with Sky.
I seriously doubt that the Sky fraud department actually exists.
