First bill

Hi,

 

Pretty shocked i have to ask a public forum for help on a topic sky should be explaining! 

I wonder if someone could help me? 

I had a new contract phone and a day later i have the month bill with 3gb of data rolled over. My questions are;

 

1. Why have i paid a month already in one day?

 

and

 

2. Surely I should get my full allowance rolled over as i have paid for it and not just 10 percent.

 

Can anyone who has had this issue?

For your first bill you would be paying from the date you first activated the sim up to the date on the next bill which could be 5 or 6 weeks.

To answer your questions:

 

Your first bill is payable 3 days after the sim is activated or up to 13 days later if paying by direct debit as you can read about here:

As for the data you do not get the full amount at first as what you get is based on the number of days before it resets which is your next billing date so as that is not 4 weeks then that amount will be less as it is pro rated. When it does reset from then onwards you will get the full allowance each month.

Thank you for the detailed answer. Tottaly agree with pro rata, but surely i have paid for that allowance so the money should be pro rata'd too?

 

i will just forget about it but sounds odd i shouldn't get what i have paid for.

Billing is pro-rata to the day.  Remember billing is monthly in-advance too.

 

If you expand the bill it will detail exactly the period you are paying for.  (There is likely to be a period of arrears and the month in advance)

 

They aren't the easiest to understand but are usually correct.
