Dongle for MacBook Air

I have just upgraded my ipad which had the cellular option to a Macbook Air which doesn't.

My question is, can I use the Sky Mobile sim from the ipad in a dongle such as the TP Link M7000 and tether the Macbook off that?

Cheers

Apple chooses not to offer cellular data functionality in its laptop hardware.

WiFi from any portable hotspot should work, and any unlocked hotspot hardware should function with a Sky Mobile SIM.

Re: Dongle for MacBook Air

Thanks for the reply, I only ask because I was sold an ESim plan with the macbbok, (my own fault for believing the chap at SKY). I phoned to change the esim to a physical sim but the guy said SKY doesnt support their sims in dongles, which I found odd..

I've got a TP Link M7000 on the way so I'll give it a go
