Sky have call centres in the UK and various other countries including India and Bulgaria iirc. All calls go to the next available agent wherever they may be based.

What issue do you have?

Although we are customers here we might be able to help saving you another call unless your issue is account related.

Is this still connected to this thread from June?

Re: Does sky outsource all calls to India now

Well they cancelled my sky and sent a box for me to put sky box in...I then had to call again and explain all this . It was just so annoying.

Now I want to upgrade my phone and I just keep getting outsourced and feel like I'm not listened to properly

Explain all what? When you cancel Sky send packaging for you to return loaned equipment. That's how it should work.

As we've stated Sky use agents in various countries, as do many other providers and in fact many large businesses in general.

@Pammy3

You've got three different fairly recent threads on the go now connected to your issues so its all getting very confusing.

Sky would only send return packaging if you'd asked to cancel your subscription, not just a small aspect of it.

My account is still restricted and they tell me I owe no money.

Sky has really gone downhill

I was going to suggest you make a complaint but see on one of the other threads you've made two already. Sky have up to 8 weeks to resolve the issue in the complaint before the next stage.

An increasing percentage, yes.  Sky Group has been owned by the Comcast Corporation since late 2018, and that kind of change tends to have wide-ranging impacts.

It's gonna happen more Sky have just shutdown three call centres Stockport, Sheffield and Leeds recently they are also reducing the staff in Dunfermline.  from what i hear they are shifting the work to South Africa as well as India.

Re: Does sky outsource all calls to India now

I think i'll have to cancel Sky and move to another supplier that has UK based centres, im fed up of hainvg to expalin myself all the time to Indian call centres that work from a script and have no understanding of my question or requests.

Re: Does sky outsource all calls to India now

Whilst I have absolutely nothing against outsourcing Human Resources,, IT NEEDS TO SAID that some people hired should  know how to speak clearly in basic English, or the accent which is so heavy it makes what you are being told nearly impossible to understand.

The clash comes when no one can understand one another, which has happened on numerous occasions. Eventually, what I need does get sorted out, but it can be frustrating, time consuming, and awkward.

I recall trying to get a SKY Store issue sorted out and all I got was advice about SKY GO ????? The two services on line are two different platforms entirely! That took an hour and eventually, after refusing to give any details the call was passed through to the UK and the first words about issues with SKY Store and the Advisor knew EXACTLY what the problem was, after an unreserved apology the issues was sorted within 2 minutes.

That is not on.

Then more recently I was promised a SIM card to replace an eSIM that had corrupted, I chased this up from Saturday into Monday morning and then I was told it was "lost in transit", which is pseudo speak for "it has not been sent", then after being passed from piller to post, was then told a new SIM could not be issued because too many had been sent already????? But one was lost in transit??? Then I am told they could not replace the eSIM as I had exhausted my quota on that as well, even though on Saturday I was told that an Tech Support Advisor was going to call me and get the eSIM issued, then I learned that the Engineer had tried to contact me on a number that was out of use for the last two years nearly?????

No one at SKY uses the up to date numbers dsiclosed on the account????? Or is it just the outsourced overseas staff whose seeming incompetence is in equal measure to the way they treat customers.

What  add a layer of frustration is that the auto-bot thta answers the phone when the line connects asks for your tel number - to match with account, then it asks that you are the account holder, password etc, and then you go through to someone in Mumbai who aske you the same details again, then they pass you through to someone else in another department who asks for these details again. It is constant repetition! What is the point of the auto-bot at the start of the call if it is not capturing and conveying on the details to the advisor who you end up speaking to. Surely internal transfers should be "warm feeds", meaning that they state DPA has been passed!

If SKY goes bust (as I have read the reports that it is struggling) it wont be due to the poorly thought SKY Live project, or the inundated poor user experience of the SKY GLASS TV, it will be the poor customer service that customers are put through in order to get the simplest of matters resolved.

You should note that I am an ethnic minority myself, but was raised by white-English adoptive parents - and I am a former member of the Anti Racist Alliance (from the 90"s), the ANL and Antifa.
