Hi everyone, I just want to ask a question about credit checks since this is my first time using Sky
so I recently purchased a contract on a MacBook Pro M3 and I know that my credit is okay since I am only a student. So I asked my dad to see if he can put his name down instead and it went through. But he isn't paying for it, I am with my debit card so would SKY also due a card check or would it just be a hard credit check on my dad instead?

Find out more@Gojo You wouldn't be able to apply using your dad's name and your debit card, it may been seen as an attempt to gain services or goods by deception, or worse still trigger an attempted fraud investigation due to the different names on the application.
If you can't get credit yourself and your dad is willing to put it in his name then your only realistic option is to have the payment come from him and you reimburse him each month.

That's not necessarily the case as you probably haven't built up a good credit score to start with.

Ohh shoot, so would SKY just cancel my order then. Would they also refund me for the upfront cost or is that just gone.

If you do end up failing the enhanced credit check any initial payment you’ve made should hopefully be refunded in about 14 days.
