Does sky only offer 36 month credit agreements on new mobiles . When I selected 24 months I thought it was a credit contract to pay off the phone . I've just found out it's 24 months before I can upgrade the handset .

You can 'swap' at other times but it's the usual period that's given. If you swap at other times then the residual value of the device may not cover the outstanding credit. (Always dependent on device condition)
