It's £2,160 per GB so adjust the spendcap accordingly?

Re: Daughter in Jamaica and her spend cap exceeded within 20 minutes of getting off plane
Jamaica isn't covered by the daily £2 charge as it falls under a "Rest of the World" country so she will be charged for what she's uses and it is not cheap:
£2,160 per GB (yes this is correct)
£2.16 per minute Calls to local or UK mobile and landline numbers
£1.80 per minute to receive calls
£0.50 per text message to UK numbers and mobiles
£0.58 per picture message(MMS)
So she might want to use Wifi only or use a local sim while she is out there.

A default £45 cap would be entirely depleted by 20 megabytes of data consumption: I'm surprised it took that long. Obtaining a local SIM card on the Digicel or Flow networks or using WiFi (not cellular data) exclusively are the only viable options.

Thank you. £2k. That's insane.
I guess she just can't use her phone.

Multiple online sources give advice on obtaining local SIM cards for travel in areas not covered by £2 roaming (which is most of the world)
Typically the country name and 'SIM' will return useful results.
Just be aware that calling the UK using an overseas SIM is typically very expensive.
