They have told me that some phones do not have the settings active on their phones and they are working with Samsung and other companies on order for it to be activated. So my phone which is. Flip 5 and pretty new and the highest spec is one of those phones. So they will be supported but just not yet until sky have the settings activated with a software update. I have not been given a time frame but it's been worked on. @FWX

@Whateverirl, thanks for the update, I called them this evening and had no update. Tried to make me repeat all the same steps as I've tried numerous times. They have transferred me to cancellation team now to try get further update or push the query along, I feel we are all being told different things lol

Hey @Whateverirl just another update, cancellation team have put a note on my account that if the issue doesn't get resolved I can cancel at anytime with no fees!
Also they put me onto someone else in tech support after this who has escalated the issue again for me and will call me back with an update tomorrow. No mention of it being a handset issue. So not sure what will be said tomorrow, but will let you know

@FWX They have not given me an ETA of a fix either but told me it's a handset/device issue so no doubt lots of handsets don't have this basic setting. But I am told they are working on it as it's a known issue and a fix is in the works with Google and Sky. So probably Apple and Sky too if it's and iPhone.

I am also having trouble with Volte and my data being cut off when I get a call. Is it worth calling do you think or will I just get fobbed off?

@RF5 @Yes. The more that complains about it hopefully the quicker they make a fix for it. It's a basic network issue. But a basic one that most people would need while driving or even just using online apps while trying to make a call

I am having the same issue. I am still in the 14 day cooling off period and since this cannot be extended if not resolved I will just end my contract. I am waiting on an update tomorrow however I expect they won't be much in the way of a resolution as this seems to be an ongoing problem.
I kept the same the device when I moved from Vodafone to sky and since sky is on the Vodafone network I really cannot understand why this is now a problem. It certainly cannot be anything to do with my device as I have had this for years with no issue.

@Brian345 ask to be put through to cancellation team and explain you need the VOLTE and if they are going to have a resolution you will hold on for another while, but ask them to make a note on your account (they put a note on my account that I can cancel without fees beyond my cooling off period if they don't resolve it.) I'm gonna give it another while and see. Also if they don't do that for you make sure not to cancel there and then.. your number will be lost. Easiest way to leave is to just port back to Vodafone.

Credit to @Deezell - This is because there is no 3G on Vodafone ireland. which Sky use. It degraded back to 2G for calls, which can't carry data simultaneously. It should use 4G VoLte for calls and simultaneous data. I was with AnPost mobile which also used Vodafone, and when 3G disappeared, we were degraded to 2G for calls. AnPost made no attempt to resolve this. I've just today changed to Sky. and though I've now got 5G, connection still degrades to 2G during a call. I've changed my phone to a better model. but im not seeing VoLte listed in the settings. I'll try the sim in my old 4G phone which had a VoLte setting, which had no effect while using AnPost sim

I had a long support chat when I finally got past the pointless chat bot answers (I reply to everything it says with 'I want to speak to a human').
The human, Fardeenameen, (From Listowel probably), kept offering advice which had obviously already been proven useless. It was hard to stay patient, when he's just reading bot answers with no awareness of the actual issue. His last statement is a fog of obfuscation. Have a look at this WhatsApp chat.
