Charged for an iMessage picture

Hi, I have been charged for sending a picture on iMessage. I double checked my bill summary and it showed the number I sent this picture to.

it was definitely an iMessage. He has the same iphone as me! I checked the images and they sent via iMessage, not text, and the exact same images were also sent to another iPhone number... but not charged.

I am very confused. This pictures a) were sent to another iMessage contact, and b) were sent via iMessage not text.

Why am I paying extra for this??

Was the charge 40p? That's the cost of a mms message. You will need to call Sky to challenge the charge. Just dial 150 free from your Sky mobile when they open later.

Ensure MMS is disabled in messages settings - under certain conditions it is used if enabled.

Yes, it was 40p. I'm almost certain the photo wasn't MMS... and the same photo sent to another iPhone number didn't incur a cost... makes no sense to me 🙈

Likewise, iMessage will use SMS for plain text if it cannot connect to the Internet.  However, SMS's are 'free' but MMS's are not!
