Cancelling my sim only order before activating

In my confusion  today renewing my TV Package in an online chat I  also agreed to  a sim only deal .  The sim is being posted . I now wish to keep with my current provider .  How do I go about cancelling this order or will it just not take affect if  the sim is never activated

@stublee  Simply don't activate the new sim, you won't be charged and it will drop off your account in around 60 days.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
