Hello , I've tried to purchase a new apple laptop , I haven't had any issues with my credit before . But it says when I go to buy the laptop . I've been refused due to the check ?. I have been a paying customer for so many years . Now i can afford this ?. I am very disappointed that I've been refused credit . When I have had over 6 phones 3 iPads and two laptops?. Very unhappy .

check your credit report for any red flags

Very odd , it's clearly not my side as I've just had two laptops , through sky . ? . And I have had this issue at the start of my sky mobile journey . Where the customer service called me asking me about my request for a product . Then they over the phone cleared me ?. I haven't changed my position credit wise and have a good limit . Also my credit was rejected. Very odd . Maybe I should apply to apple and not sky ?.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Taffychria If you have recently had credit from Sky for 2 laptops that could be the issue, those 2 laptops may have taken you to or over the acceptable amount of open credit accounts on your credit file that the financing company Sky uses allows.

It is but only if you pass the credit checks on each one.

You may be refused credit elsewhere too.
But every vendor has different criteria so you may be successful there.

Checks beyond simply the credit score are often performed. Retailers do not have to explain their scoring mechanism.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Taffychria Credit checks are not just about your credit score, every lender will have a set figure for the amount of open credit accounts on someones file they deem acceptable, once you hit or exceed that limit you will be declined regardless of whether you can afford the repayments or how good your credit score is.
You need to look at your credit file to see how many open credit accounts you have, if it's a lot then it's highly likely other providers will refuse your applications, if you have applied multiple times in quick succession that will have a negative effect on providers willingness to approve you application as well.

I have tried upgrading to have a second laptop on a family account only to fail the credit check, but the credit check did not search externally. There is a policy that you can't have to laptops on one account and this was confirmed because I had to pay the remainder of a chrome book, wait two days and then do an upgrade before I got the new laptop. The advisor said that if I had a family member over 18 then they could apply but use my bank account to pay for the new device, which would free up devices on my account. They said you could have four people living at the same address with five devices each and it would not be an issue.
