Can I sell my phone even if the contract is still active?

I'm looking to purchase a newer phone and was thinking of giving my current iPhone 11 to my mother, however I am still in contract, would that be a problem?

 

I'm assuming it won't be a problem as long ad I continue to pay my bill.

@AlexLee  if you are not planning on using the swap option then providing you continue to pay the device off you can do so  but note you would also be responsible for any SIM cards that are active on your account for that phone

I cancelled my SIM the other day due to poor signal so that's not a problem, thank you for confirming!
